April Showers bring national Caliber racers

I love this time of year.  This week precisely.  The weather is breaking but still volatile.   Collegiate cycling is in its final throes.  Little 5 is in full swing and the contenders are sharpening their A game for the weekend.  The domestic road season has just begun and the ‘local’ Midwest series are a week away.  Wednesday Worlds are in their 6th week.  Some local hardmen (and women) have miles of motorpacing under their wheels.   It’s this beautiful confluence of fitness and speed and power and watts all coming together for one weekend in April!  Or so it seems.

Spring-like

I was planning on going to the Bakehouse today but probably for a coffee to watch the group depart and not to ride.  I expected just a few riders due to the Easter weekend.   But I had watched the Tour of Flanders this morning and was inspired to suit up despite the dreary and cool start to the day!

The Curious Case of Wednesday Worlds

It’s sometimes strange the way that a story unfolds.   It’s why we read I suppose, and on a deeper level, why we race.  This Wednesday Worlds was a unique opportunity to air out your training methods, timing, expectations.  But the only thing that really matters is can you perform – and it’s always a Yes or No answer.
