A Legacy of Our Own

Wednesday Worlds holds a unique place in the cycling psyche of Bloomington.  I had left work just a bit early to get prepared for the event. It was the 446 and Knightridge loop, always a large draw, and this was a perfect Wednesday as well for this important training race.  Sunny and warm, with finals well in hand at the University.   Many of the young riders already making plans for work over the summer.

Mooresville Race Report: Jacob Sinex

I decided on Wednesday to join the Little 500 spirit and sign up for my first bike race in about two years. The last time I raced in 2011, I was in the middle of a 9 month consulting/traveling job, and fitness was low, weight was high and racing isn’t much fun when you have those two problems. A series of events earlier this year inspire me to take up training again and make some diet changes to get down to “racing weight”. Plus, Aaron Prange (Team Scholars Inn Bakehouse teammate, Cyclism Training client) targeted this race for his 2013 debut and I wanted to get in on the action.

April Showers bring national Caliber racers

I love this time of year.  This week precisely.  The weather is breaking but still volatile.   Collegiate cycling is in its final throes.  Little 5 is in full swing and the contenders are sharpening their A game for the weekend.  The domestic road season has just begun and the ‘local’ Midwest series are a week away.  Wednesday Worlds are in their 6th week.  Some local hardmen (and women) have miles of motorpacing under their wheels.   It’s this beautiful confluence of fitness and speed and power and watts all coming together for one weekend in April!  Or so it seems.
